A Hoveyda–Grubbs‐Type Olefin Metathesis Catalyst Bearing a Fluorinated Unsymmetrical NHC Ligand
A fluorinated unsymmetrical NHC ruthenium complex was synthesised and employed as a catalyst for olefin metathesis reactions. The modification of the steric and electronic properties of the NHC ligand through the introduction of fluorine substituents results in improved activity but lower selectivity compared to the analogous non‐fluorinated NHC ...

Transverse-longitudinal coupling by space charge in cyclotrons
A method is presented that enables one to compute the parameters of matched beams with space charge in cyclotrons with emphasis on the effect of the transverse-longitudinal coupling.

Hypervision Proton Surgery: The Future Direction of Proton Therapy
ABSTRACT Proton beams provide unique physical advantages characterized by a low entrance dose, negligible exit dose, and a sharp Bragg peak, which enable superior sparing of normal tissues and support safe dose escalation for improved tumor control. However, conventional photon‐based fractionation remains widely used in proton therapy, where prolonged ...

New Ion Source Filament for Prolonged Ion Source Operation on A Medical Cyclotron
Cyclotrons are an important tool for accelerator sciences including the production of medical isotopes for imaging and therapy. For their successful and cost-efficient operation, the planned and unplanned down time of the cyclotron needs to be kept at a ...

Molecular theranostics: principles, challenges and controversies
Molecular theranostics offers a powerful tool to drive precision medicine in nuclear oncology. While theranostics is not a new principle in nuclear medicine, recent advances in instrumentation and radiopharmacy have driven a reinvigoration and a broader suite of applications.

Towards quantitative simulations of high power proton cyclotrons
We describe a large scale simulation effort using Object Oriented Parallel Accelerator Library, that leads to a better quantitative understanding of the existing Paul Scherrer Institut high power proton cyclotron facility.

A phase‐change magneto‐optical metagrating combines GST switching with InAs guided‐mode resonances to achieve strong nonreciprocal absorption contrast near normal incidence. A static magnetic bias creates direction‐dependent resonant splitting, while GST crystallization quenches and latches the response.

Cyclotrons with fast variable and/or multiple energy extraction
We discuss the possibility in principle of stripping extraction in combination with reverse bends in isochronous separate-sector cyclotrons (and/or fixed field alternating gradient accelerators).

Cyclotron Resonance and Quasiparticles [PDF]
This introductory paper contains personal perspectives about the importance of cyclotron resonance in forming our modern view of solids. The papers following this one will discuss the discovery, refinements, and some of the latest developments. Although I will touch on some of these subjects, I leave the details to the other authors and in the main ...

ABSTRACT The review examines the evolution of chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI‐MS), a technique developed in 1966 by Field and Munson. CI is a soft‐ionization method that produces more intense molecular ions with less fragmentation than electron ionization (EI).
