A form of list structure is described which permits an efficient representation of relational data structures. The general notions of the PLEX and of ring structures, because of their proven value, have been used as a basis; but by systematically treating the array structure of the PLEX as an implicit form of linkage which is complementary to the ...

Modeling Cylinder-to-Cylinder Coupling in Multi-Cylinder HCCI Engines Incorporating Reinduction
Volume 9: Mechanical Systems and Control, Parts A, B, and C, 2007Residual-affected homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) is a promising strategy for decreasing fuel consumption and NOx emissions in internal combustion engines. One practical approach for achieving residual-affected HCCI is by using variable valve actuation to reinduct previously exhausted combustion products.

Healthcare facilities use a variety of compressed gases that are packaged in many forms. Often, medical gases are piped to the point of use—the patient’s bedside in the intensive care unit (ICU) or a laminar flow hood in the lab. This is fine for common gases (oxygen, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, for example) where there is a fixed or ...

Cylinder by Cylinder Torque Production non-Uniformity Evaluation
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2005<div class="htmlview paragraph">The paper presents the development of a model study whose results enable to evaluate the torque production non-uniformity between the cylinders of an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE). This non-uniformity can be due, for example, to different air breathing into the cylinders, to different injector characteristics ...
