Conjugate Effects of Heat and Mass Transfer on Natural Convection Flow Across an Isothermal Horizontal Circular Cylinder With Chemical Reaction

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2007
Natural convection flow across an isothermal cylinder immersed in a viscous incompressible fluid in the presence of species concentration and chemical reaction has been investigated. The governing boundary layer equations are transformed into a system of

Laser induced Zero-Group Velocity resonances in Transversely Isotropic cylinder

open access: yes, 2015
The transient response of an elastic cylinder to a laser impact is studied. When the laser source is a line perpendicular to the cylinder axis, modes guided along the cylinder are generated.

The Cylinder Product and Cylinder Matrices

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1999
Let \(A\) be a coquasitriangular (CQT) bialgebra over a field \(k\). Let \(\sigma\) denote the invertible braid form on \(A\otimes A\). \textit{T.~tom Dieck} and \textit{R.~Häring-Oldenburg} introduced CQT bialgebras with a cylinder form [Forum Math. 10, No. 5, 619-639 (1998; Zbl 0974.17017)].

Wrinkling of Elastic Cylinders With Material Properties Varying in Radial Direction

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Although the instability of graded elastic cylinders has been analyzed by many researchers, most of them focused on the core-shell cylinders and film-substrate structures with inhomogeneous Young’s modulus.

Experimental study of a three dimensional cylinder-filament system

open access: yes, 2015
This experimental study reports on the behavior of a filament attached to the rear of a three- dimensional cylinder. The axis of the cylinder is placed normal to a uniform incoming flow and the filament is free to move in the cylinder wake.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Study on Parameterization of Vortex-Induced Vibration Energy Harvester in Agricultural Environment

open access: yesAgriEngineering, 2020
In many special agricultural environments, many wireless sensors have a problem of power supply selection. Energy harvesting in the agricultural environment based on vortex-induced vibration (VIV) has the potential to solve the problem. In this paper, an

Shifted Legendre Collocation Method for the Solution of Unsteady Viscous-Ohmic Dissipative Hybrid Ferrofluid Flow over a Cylinder

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
A numerical treatment for the unsteady viscous-Ohmic dissipative flow of hybrid ferrofluid over a contracting cylinder is provided in this study. The hybrid ferrofluid was prepared by mixing a 50% water (H2O) + 50% ethylene glycol (EG) base fluid with a ...

Relativistic Bessel cylinders [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2014
A set of cylindrical solutions to Einstein's field equations for power law densities is described. The solutions have a Bessel function contribution to the metric. For matter cylinders regular on axis, the first two solutions are the constant density Gott-Hiscock string and a cylinder with a metric Airy function.
