Individual Cylinder Knock Control by Detecting Cylinder Pressure
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1987<div class="htmlview paragraph">To improve available power, tolerance to variation in fuel octane number and high engine speed knock control, an individual cylinder knock control has been developed.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">Knock are detected by spark plug washer transducers.

Dynamic Burst Pressure Simulation of Cylinder-Cylinder Intersections
Volume 3: Design and Analysis, 2008In this study, the determination of the burst pressure of a series of cylinder-cylinder intersections representing vessels of diameter D and wall thickness T, and nozzles of diameter d and wall thickness t subjected to short-term dynamic loading is investigated.

Burst Pressure of Pressurized Cylinders With Hillside Nozzle
Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2009Abstract The burst pressure of cylinders with hillside nozzle is determined using both experimental and finite element analysis (FEA) approaches. Three full-scale test models with different angles of the hillside nozzle were designed and fabricated specifically for a hydrostatic test in which the cylinders were pressurized with water. 3D

Base Pressure of Oscillating Circular Cylinders
Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1976Experiments have been made to investigate the base pressure coefficients of circular cylinders oscillating transversely in a stream for a wide range of cylinder amplitudes and frequencies. This is thought to give a good indication of the variation in drag coefficient.

On Boundary Layers in a Pressurized Mooney Cylinder
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1987Asymptotic expansions are developed for the equations governing large axisymmetric deformation of a circular cylindrical shell composed of a Mooney material. The shell equations allow large normal strains and thickness changes but ignore transverse shear deformation.

Stresses in a Pressurized Cylinder with a Hole
Journal of the Structural Division, 1967The stresses in a long pressurized thin hollow cylinder capped at the ends, and with a circular hole far from the ends are experimentally determined. Brittle coating, mechanical and electrical strain gages, and photoelasticity were used for the analysis. An epoxy model was loaded at room temperature to obtain brittle coating and strain gage data.

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
The paper presents an approach to reconstruct cylinder-individual pressure of each combustion cycle by processing the instantaneous fluctuations of the engine speed and the in-cylinder pressure of one cylinder. A new pressure model with a feasible number of parameters is combined with a model-based torque estimation in order to reconstruct the pressure

Elimination of Pressure Cylinder Deflection on Two Cylinder Bending Machine
Key Engineering Materials, 2015The modern world of mechanical and electrical engineering disposes of a very high amount of appliances and devices for measuring the values of various parametres. When designing a device for measuring the deflection of a roller in a two cylinder bending machine, the measured parameter of the deflection can deviate by several dozen micrometres either ...

Bifurcation of Elastoplastic Pressure-Sensitive Hollow Cylinders
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1999A linear bifurcation analysis is presented for pressure sensitive elastoplastic hollow cylinders under radial surface loads. Material response is modeled by flow and deformation theories of the Drucker-Prager solid accounting for arbitrary hardening.
