Vibrational lapping of cylindrical parts
Russian Engineering Research, 2009Lapping is a familiar finishing method for plane, cylindrical, conical, and complex surfaces, used to increase their accuracy and quality. In the present work, we consider a new lapping method for the cylindrical parts most often found in roller bearings, piston pairs in fuel pumps, hydraulic systems, and elsewhere.

Analysis of the kinematic model for cylindrical parts in double-sided lapping process
International Journal of Nanomanufacturing, 2014The method of machining cylindrical parts with double-sided lapping through a planet mechanism is discussed in this paper, and the cylindrical parts trace equation is set up by using the coordinate transformation, then simulate the contour and distribution of the trace by using MATLAB.

Trajectory analysis and experiments of both-sides cylindrical lapping in eccentric rotation
International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2016In this paper, the both-sides lapping in eccentric rotation is proposed to fine-finish the cylindrical surface of a batch of bearing rollers. The geometry and kinematics of the workpiece are theoretically analyzed, the trajectory on the cylindrical surface is simulated, and the trajectory distribution is evaluated quantitatively by calculating the ...

Kinematics and trajectory of both-sides cylindrical lapping process in planetary motion type
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 2015Abstract The both-sides lapping process in planetary motion type is proposed in this paper to lap and polish the cylindrical surface of bearing roller. The rolling speed of roller is the key kinematical parameter that affects the generation of cylindrical surface of roller.

Investigation and optimization of the internal cylindrical surface lapping process of 440c steel
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2019A new lapping method is proposed for internal cylindrical surfaces finishing. Regression analysis and artificial neural network (ANN) were used for modeling this lapping process and predicting the effects of parameters of rotational speed of the lapping tool (ω), the length of the lapping tool (L) and difference in external diameter of the lapping tool

A cylindrical fine-ceramics, Al2O3, component was lapped on its outer surface by the use of a vibrational lapping unit manufactured in the laboratory. It is necessary that the cylindrical lapping of fine-ceramics be characterized and optimized because the process, as with other finishing methods, is time-consuming and thus inefficient, and because it ...

Experimental study on double disc straight groove lapping of cylindrical rollers
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part E: Journal of Process Mechanical EngineeringThis paper presents a study on the double disc straight groove lapping (DDSGL) process for cylindrical rollers. The motion characteristics of cylindrical rollers during DDSGL were analyzed, and a theoretical model for predicting the surface roughness of the ground rollers was established.

The double-disk arc-contact lapping (DDACL) method is a novel for precision machining of the rolling surface of cylindrical roller. The contact characteristics of DDACL process can affect the lapping quality of the bearing roller. However, there is a limited amount of study on the contact theory of DDACL. Therefore, the objective of this research is to
