Rolling dielectric elastomer actuator with bulged cylindrical shape

Smart Materials and Structures, 2010
This note presents preliminary investigations on the design and development of a rolling dielectric elastomer actuator (rDEA) with a bulged cylindrical shape. The actuator is based on an inflated silicone-based hollow cylinder consisting of a series of dielectric elastomer actuator sectors.

Rectangular‐shaped microshield coplanar waveguides on cylindrical substrate

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2001
AbstractIn this study, CAD‐oriented analytic expressions derived by the conformal mapping method are presented, for the first time, for calculating the line parameters of a rectangular‐shaped microshield CPW on a cylindrical substrate. The effect of the curvature on the line parameters is discussed.

Dynamical shape control in non-cylindrical hydrodynamics

Inverse Problems, 1999
The authors are interested in a dynamical shape control problem in non-cylindrical hydrodynamics. The cost functional they consider is the kinetic energy of a perfect and incompressible fluid. Existence of a non-autonomous vector field is established, which constructs the tube followed by the fluid in such a way to minimize its kinetic energy.

SPATIAL BRAIDING OF CYLINDRICAL SHAPE ARTICLES

1999
Paper is devoted to analysis of effective deformative characteristics of 3-D composites formed by spatial braiding along the generatrices of a one-sheet hyperboloid. Relationships between geometric and technological parameters, which determine structure and properties of a braided composite, are derived.

3-D cylindrical shaped frequency selective surface

2017 4th International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communication Systems (ICACCS), 2017
The three dimension cylindrical structure is interesting, challenging and offers excellent space utilization. With utilization of three-dimensional space, the unit cell size of the FSS can be further reduced. A novel design of three dimensional Cylindrical Shaped Frequency Selective Surface (CSFSS) based on a single circular ring structure has been ...

Toward Dendrimers with Cylindrical Shape in Solution

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 1997
Three approaches for the synthesis of dendrimers with poly(p-phenylene)-PPP derived cores are described. The respective limitations of these approaches are assessed in view of the goal of this research:  to make available structurally perfect, high molecular weight polymers with a dense sequence of sterically demanding dendrons.

Shaped nanoantennas on cylindrical and planar substrate

2017 IEEE First Ukraine Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (UKRCON), 2017
As a rule nanoantennas represent shaped nanodipoles placed either in some media or mounted on the planar dielectric substrate. In this paper we propose some designs which are new for nanoantennas, namely, shaped silver nanodipoles like a traditional nanodipole and a shaped slotted torus nanodipole are placed on the glass circular cylindrical substrate.

Expanding the Cylindrical ends of Shaped Tubes

Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2014
A method of flaring the cylindrical end sections of shaped tubes with rolling devices is described. These tubes are used in the production of heat exchangers, and also in the oil-gas industry (shaped well covers). A model of the process, which makes it possible to determine the stress-strain state and damage sustained by the tube material is proposed ...

Stopping of particles in cylindrically shaped dielectrics

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2012
Polarization fields created in a dielectric cylinder by a moving charge are considered. They are subdivided into vortex and potential fields. Formulas for the stopping force are deduced.

Pyroelectric response coming from cylindrical shaped domains

Ferroelectrics, 1983
A theoretical model was developed for analysing the pyroelectric current response derived from cylindrical shaped domains irradiated by a focussed laser beam. The theoretically predicted responses were compared with experimental data obtained for nearly cylindrical domains in PbTiO3 single crystals using a laser beam focussed to give a 40 μm heat ...
