Concentric microcavities for cylindrical vector beam lasers
Optics Letters, 2020Cylindrical vector (CV) beams with polarization singularities have attracted intense research interest because of their important applications in optical trapping and manipulation, imaging, and high-speed optical communication. In this Letter, we propose a high-speed integrated device designed to emit fundamental CV beams, including both radially and ...

Cylindrical vector beam-splitters
Frontiers in Optics 2011/Laser Science XXVII, 2011We show that radial and azimuthal polarizations can be separated with a circular sub-wavelength grating. The proposed grating-based beam-splitter can be used to generate cylindrical vector beams from circularly polarized light.

Cylindrical vector beam transformations and hybrid vector beams
Frontiers in Optics 2010/Laser Science XXVI, 2010Transformations of the spin and orbital parts of cylindrical vector beams through conventional optical elements is analyzed with Jones calculus and experimentally measured by Stokes polarimetry. Generation of unique hybrid vector beams is discussed.

Coherent beam combining of cylindrical vector beams for power scaling
Optics Letters, 2023Coherent beam combining (CBC) of cylindrical vector beams (CVBs) based on an active phase controller is proposed and demonstrated. Experimentally, two pieces of spatially variant wave plates (S-wave plate) were employed as vector mode convertors for two individual 1064-nm fiber amplifier channels. When the system was in a closed loop, a combined output

Cylindrical vector beams through amplifiers
Solid State Lasers XXVII: Technology and Devices, 2018Vector beams that carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) have become ubiquitous and topical in a variety of research fields. The quality of such beams usually degrades while propagating in space. Here, we report a noval technique to improve the quality of vector beams by amplifying these beams through birefringent amplifier.

Cylindrical vector beams for wireless power transfer
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017This article investigates wireless power transfer in the Fresnel zone using cylindrical vector beams. First, a generalized coupling coefficient between two circular apertures in the Fresnel zone is derived. From the generalized coupling coefficient, explicit coupling coefficients between two circular (focused or unfocused) apertures supporting Gaussian,

Dark-field imaging with cylindrical-vector beams
Applied Optics, 2006Dark-field illumination provides an imaging mode that rejects specular light, thereby highlighting edge features. We analyze dark-field imaging by using cylindrical vector beam illumination with a confocal microscope equipped with a microstructure fiber mode filter.
