On-chip Tunable Cylindrical Vector Beams Emitter
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2016, 2016We experimentally demonstrated a silicon photonic cylindrical vector beams emitter, consisting of a micro-ring resonator with angular grating and a resistive heater. The device is capable of generating and tuning azimuthal and radial polarization beams.

Cylindrical vector axisymmetric Bessel-modulated Gaussian beam
Optical and Quantum Electronics, 2009Focusing properties of the cylindrical vector axisymmetric Bessel-modulated Gaussian beam with quadratic radial dependence (QBG beam) in high numerical aperture system is investigated theoretically by vector diffraction theory. Results show that intensity distribution in focal region can be altered considerably by beam parameter μ and polarization ...

Optical tweezers based on cylindrical vector beams
SPIE Proceedings, 2013Optical tweezers based on cylindrical vector beams are studied theoretically and experimentally. First, we present the basic concept of a cylindrical vector beam (CVB), whose polarization is axially symmetric to the optical axis. Second, two theoretical modes to analyze the interaction between the light beam and the particle are introduced ...

Cylindrical vector beam Ytterbium-doped fiber laser
2018 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP), 2018We demonstrate ytterbium-doped fiber lasers with cylindrical vector beam (CVB) generation using a mode selective coupler (MSC) as the transverse mode converter and splitter. Based on our fabricated MSCs with two different methods, i.e. without/with pre-tapering, CVB generation from CW, Q-switched and mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber lasers have been ...

Optical trapping of gold nanoparticles by cylindrical vector beam
Optics Letters, 2012Optical trapping of gold nanoparticles is experimentally demonstrated using radially and azimuthally polarized beams. The transverse optical trapping stiffness of gold nanoparticles is measured. The radially polarized beam exhibits a higher trapping efficiency than the azimuthally polarized beam and the Gaussian beam.

Approach to multiplexing fiber communication with cylindrical vector beams
Optics Letters, 2017Cylindrical vector beams (CVBs), including radial, azimuthal, and hybrid polarization vortex states, are based on the polarization singularity and regarded as the eigenmodes of fiber. In this Letter, we propose and demonstrate CVB (de)multiplexing communication in a few-mode fiber (FMF). We simulate the eight CVB modes, including the ±1 orders and the ±

Three-dimensional focus shaping with cylindrical vector beams
Optics Communications, 2006A three-dimensional focus shaping technique using the combination of cylindrical polarization with binary diffractive optical element is proposed. The energy density pattern at the vicinity of the focus can be tailored in three dimensions by appropriately adjusting the parameters of the cylindrical vector beam illumination, numerical aperture of the ...

Polarization and Propagation Behavior of Cylindrical Vector Beams
Frontiers in Optics 2013, 2013Expressions for cylindrical vector beams, that also satisfy Maxwell equations are derived. Modified description of two cylindrically polarized beams Bessel-Gauss and Laguerre-Gauss are studied and their propagation and polarization properties are investigated.

Cylindrical Vector Beam Holography without Preservation of OAM Modes
Nano LettersOrbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexed holograms have attracted a great deal of attention recently due to their physically unbounded set of orthogonal helical modes. However, preserving the OAM property in each pixel hinders fine sampling of the target image in principle and requires a fundamental filtering aperture array in the detector plane ...
