Cylindricity Error Measuring and Evaluating for Engine Cylinder Bore in Manufacturing Procedure

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
On-line measuring device of cylindricity error is designed based on two-point method error separation technique (EST), which can separate spindle rotation error from measuring error.

Point angle effect in drilling of syntactic foams

open access: yesComposites Part C: Open Access, 2021
Borosilicate glass microballoons (GMBs) of three different density grades are dispersed in epoxy resin for fabricating syntactic foams. The influence of different twist drill (coated solid tungsten carbide) point angles (85,110, and 135°) in dry drilling

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Evaluation of Hole Quality in Hardened Steel with High-Speed Drilling Using Different Cooling Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2011
This work evaluates the hole quality on AISI H13 hardened steel using high-speed drilling. Specimens were machined with new and worn out drills with 8.6 mm diameter and (TiAl)N coating.

Small diameter hole profile measuring system and calibration method for contactless sensor with fine fiber probe

open access: yesMeasurement: Sensors, 2021
We developed a system to measure the internal profile of small diameter hole. The minimum measurable diameter is 0.14 mm and the maximum measureable depth is 2 mm. The system can measure the roundness, straightness, cylindricity, and roughness.

Mass and Charge in Brane-World and Non-Compact Kaluza-Klein Theories in 5 Dim [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
In classical Kaluza-Klein theory, with compactified extra dimensions and without scalar field, the rest mass as well as the electric charge of test particles are constants of motion.

Cylindric Modal Logic

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Logic, 1995
AbstractTreating the existential quantification ∃νi as a diamond ♢i and the identity νi = νj as a constant δij, we study restricted versions of first order logic as if they were modal formalisms. This approach is closely related to algebraic logic, as the Kripke frames of our system have the type of the atom structures of cylindric algebras; the full ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Quality Evaluation and Predictive Analysis of Drilled Holes in Jute/Palm/Polyester Hybrid Bio-Composites Using CMM and ANN Techniques

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers
In this study, the evaluation of 75 holes drilled in a hybrid bio-composite jute/palm/polyester plate and controlled by a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is essential to ensure the quality, dimensional precision, and geometric conformity of the plate.

Ga-actions on affine cones

open access: yes, 2013
We give a criterion of existence of a unipotent group action on the affine cone over a projective variety or, more generally, on the affine quasicone over a variety which is projective over another affine variety.Comment: 16p.
