Species concepts in Calonectria (Cylindrocladium) [PDF]

open access: yesStudies in Mycology, 2010
Species of Calonectria and their Cylindrocladium anamorphs are important plant pathogens worldwide. At present 52 Cylindrocladium spp. and 37 Calonectria spp. are recognised based on sexual compatibility, morphology and phylogenetic inference. The polyphasic approach of integrating Biological, Morphological and Phylogenetic Species Concepts has ...

Calonectria species and their Cylindrocladium anamorphs: species with clavate vesicles [PDF]

open access: yesStudies in Mycology, 2006
The present study compares all known species of Cylindrocladium that have clavate vesicles. Several isolates were obtained from baited soils collected in various parts of the world, while others were associated with leaf litter or symptomatic plant hosts.

New cylindrocladium diseases of strawberry and coral bells caused by Cylindrocladium canadense

Journal of General Plant Pathology, 2008
Based on inoculation experiments and morphological and molecular phylogenetic studies, Cylindrocladium damping-off of strawberry and Cylindrocladium blight of coral bells in Japan were demonstrated to be caused by Cylindrocladium canadense. This is the first report of a disease on strawberry and coral bells caused by this fungus.

Calonectria (Cylindrocladium) species associated with dying Pinus cuttings [PDF]

open access: yesPersoonia: Molecular Phylogeny and Evolution of Fungi, 2009
Calonectria (Ca.) species and their Cylindrocladium (Cy.) anamorphs are well-known pathogens of forest nursery plants in subtropical and tropical areas of the world.

Cylindrocladium brown leaf spot on Howea belmoreana caused by Calonectria ilicicola (anamorph: Cylindrocladium parasiticum) in Japan

Journal of General Plant Pathology, 2007
Brown leaf spot disease caused by Cylindrocladium was found on Howea belmoreana on Hachijojima Island, Tokyo, Japan, in December 2001. Typical symptoms were incited after artificial inoculation. A culture of white mycelia, isolated from leaf spot symptoms, produced reddish perithecia of a nectriaceous fungus.
