Multi‐Induction Strategies in Crops: Mechanisms, Synergistic Effects, and Sustainable Applications for Enhanced Secondary Metabolite Production

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 4, July 2026.
This review analyzes single/combined abiotic (light, water, nutrients, hormones) and biotic (microbes, yeast) elicitors regulating signaling, gene expression, and metabolism to boost plant secondary metabolites. It highlights synergistic multielicitor strategies for crop quality and functional foods, while critically addressing current limitations and ...

Evaluation ofp-cymene, a natural antioxidant

open access: yesPharmaceutical Biology, 2014
Several studies have demonstrated that essential oils and their major components have antioxidant activity. p-Cymene is a monoterpene and a major constituent of essential oils of various species of plants. This paper evaluated the antioxidant potential of p-cymene in the hippocampus of mice by determining the levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive ...

Comparison of Different Fruit Shapes of Lanxangia tsaoko: Differences and Relevance of Phenotypes, Antioxidant Activities, and Physicochemical Information

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study selected three fruit types of LT, including PCS, ES, and LFS. We examined the phenotypes and physicochemical components, volatile substances, non‐volatile substances, and FT‐NIRS characteristics of the three fruit types. Based on FT‐NIRS, an SVM model was established for the rapid identification of LT fruit types.

Evaluation of Enzyme Inhibition and Kinetic Profiles of Origanum Essential Oils on Metabolic and Central Nervous System Targets

open access: yesNatural Sciences, Volume 6, Issue 3, July 2026.
The essential oils of three Origanum species were chemically characterized and evaluated for their antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities. The different compositions confer selective bioactivities: O. vulgare exhibits good antioxidant and α‐glucosidase inhibitory activity, O. majorana shows promising tyrosinase inhibition, and O.

Treatment of cotton with plant growth‐promoting rhizobacteria consortium alters host location and oviposition of Spodoptera exigua

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 7123-7136, July 2026.
Two plant‐growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) consortia (AU8 and TX1) induced a deterrence of host plant location and oviposition behavior of Spodoptera exigua females in both susceptible and resistant cotton plants. Most of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) increased in PGPR‐treated plants compared to untreated plants. # indicates treatments not

Thyme Essential Oil and Hyaluronic Acid as Natural Disinfectant Alternatives for Broiler Breeder Fertile Eggs: Effects on Eggshell Microbial Load, Embryonic Viability and Hatchability

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Natural eggshell sanitation using thyme essential oil reduced microbial contamination and lipid peroxidation while improving embryo viability and hatchability in stored broiler breeder fertile eggs. These findings support thyme essential oil as a promising residue‐free alternative for hatchery egg sanitation.
