Response of Bermudagrass (CynodonSpp.) to CGA 163935
Weed Technology, 1992CGA 163935 was evaluated for its growth regulating effect on common bermudagrass for two years and ‘Tifway’ bermudagrass for four years. The vegetative growth of mowed common bermudagrass was suppressed for 5 wk when CGA 163935 was applied at 0.2 kg ha–1followed by 0.1 kg ha–12 wk later and mowed Tifway bermudagrass was suppressed for 4 wk after ...

Response of Bermudagrass (Cynodonspp.) to Plant Growth Regulators
Weed Technology, 1989Plant growth regulators were evaluated on African ‘Tifway’ and common bermudagrass. The vegetative growth of mowed Tifway bermudagrass was suppressed 15 to 22% for 3 weeks by flurprimidol at 0.84 kg ai/ha while mowed common bermudagrass was suppressed 30 to 34% during the same period by flurprimidol at 1.1 kg/ha.

Bermudagrass (Cynodonspp.) Cultivar Response to Diclofop, MSMA and Metribuzin
Weed Technology, 1991Postemergence grass weed control in turf-type bermudagrass is currently available only with repeated applications of organic arsenicals and/or with combinations of metribuzin which decrease turf quality. Research was conducted to determine tolerance of the turf-type bermudagrass cultivars, Tifway, Ormond, and common, to diclofop rates ranging from 0.54

The potential of Australian bermudagrasses (Cynodon spp.) for vegetating hostile soils
2016There is a large requirement in Australia to vegetate extensive areas of hostile soils particularly those that are dispersive, sodic and possibly saline. For vegetating large areas of hostile soils the preferred method of establishment of new vegetation is by seed however there are limited seeded species that have the necessary attributes of low growth,

Selecting for drought tolerance among Australian green couch grasses (Cynodon spp.)
Crop & Pasture Science, 2009Increasing demand for scarce water resources in Australia has led to the selection of turfgrass genotypes with good drought tolerance. Here we describe the development of methodologies for screening green couch grasses (Cynodon spp.) grown in 40-cm PVC pots placed under rainout shelters. The drought tolerance of up to 8 genotypes including 4 commercial

Characterisation of vegetative bermudagrasses (Cynodon spp.) for turf use in Australia [PDF]
In this study, up to 21 morphological traits including those describing growth habit, stolons, shoots and inflorescences were measured on all of the available recreational Cynodon spp. turf varieties in Australia including 19 hybrid interspecific bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon x C. transvaalensis) varieties and 16 bermudagrass (C.

Ruminal degradation of the biomass of grass hays genre Cynodon spp.

Sequential Herbicide and Plant Growth Regulator Treatments on Bermudagrass (Cynodonspp.)
Weed Technology, 1991Sequential applications of MSMA plus metribuzin with selected plant growth regulators interacted synergistically and increased injury of ‘Tifway’ bermudagrass 1 and 2 wk after treatment. However, the higher injury at 3 wk after treatment, from sequential MSMA plus metribuzin with flurprimidol plus mefluidide or paclobutrazol with mefluidide, was ...
