Cyperus steudneri, a new combination in Cyperus (Cyperaceae)
Plant Ecology and Evolution, 2013 The recently published nomen novum Cyperus spiralis Larridon is illegitimate, because an earlier epithet of a homotypic name is available. A new combination, Cyperus steudneri (Boeckeler) Larridon is proposed for Kyllingiella polyphylla (A.Rich.) Lye.

Cyperus L. subg. Cyperus (Cyperaceae) in Southern Brazil
, 2012 Cyperus sensu stricto includes c. 550 species distributed in the subgenera Cyperus and Anosporum (Nees) C.B. Clarke. Cyperus subg. Cyperus is represented in Southern Brazil by 18 taxa. They occur especially in wet grasslands, dunes, swamps and disturbed places.
