Paranasal sinus mucocele with visual disturbances whose causative legion was hardly identified on computed tomography imaging: A case report

open access: yesActa Oto-Laryngologica Case Reports, 2019
We report one case of sinus mucocele with vision loss hardly identified on CT, resulting in diagnosis delay. A 34-year-old man was referred to the department of ophthalmology in our hospital because of acute loss of his left vision since morning of the ...

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

Tooth in a cyst — Is it always a dentigerous cyst? [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, 2007
We present the case report of an 18-year-old female patient who presented with unilateral nasal obstruction. Computed tomography scanning revealed an unerupted molar in the posterior wall of the right maxillary sinus with a cystic swelling in the sinus. The preoperative diagnosis was a dentigerous cyst.

Redox‐dependent binding and conformational equilibria govern the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this work, we reveal how different enzyme binding configurations influence the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in live cells using time‐resolved anisotropy imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM). Mathematical modelling shows that the redox states of the NAD and NADP pools govern these configurations, shaping their fluorescence ...

BAKER'S CYST

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ortopedia (English Edition), 2011
Baker's cysts are located in the posteromedial region of the knee between the medial belly of the gastrocnemius muscle and semimembranosus tendon. In adults, these cysts are related to intra-articular lesions, which may consist of meniscal lesions or arthrosis.

Nasolabial cyst mimicking inflammatory cyst [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2013
The nasolabial cyst is an uncommon non-odontogenic soft tissue cyst. It arises as an ectodermal developmental swelling and is classified as a fissural cyst, found outside the bone, in the region corresponding to the nasolabial furrow and alar nose. A case of nasolabial cyst with classic clinical and histopathological features, along with few features ...

Image Processing Instrumentation for Giardia lamblia Detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Currently, the identification and enumeration of Giardia Iamblia cysts are based upon microscopic methods requiring individuals proficient in this area. It is a tedious process which consumes time that could be constructively used elsewhere. This project

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.
