Heterotopic mucinous cystadenoma of the pancreas

A 46-year-old female who had been experiencing severe diarrhea and marked weight loss underwent exploratory laparotomy because of a mass near the tail of the pancreas noted on CT scan. Pathologic examination revealed a mucinous cystadenoma of the pancreas occurring in heterotopic pancreatic tissue.
