Isolated cystic dilatation of the cystic duct
The American Journal of Surgery, 1983Presented was an unusual case of congenital cystic dilatation of the extrahepatic biliary tract in which the cystic changes were confined solely to the cystic duct. There was concomitant common bile duct obstruction secondary to inflammation and mass effect from the cyst.

Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1990
Two patients with carcinoma of the cystic duct presented with obstructive jaundice due to extrinsic compression of the common hepatic duct by the tumor. Sonography and computed tomography showed dilatation of the intrahepatic bile ducts and gallbladder. In one patient, a calculus seen in the gallbladder neck suggested Mirizzi syndrome.

Somatostatinoma of the cystic duct
Cancer, 1984An unusual tumor of the cystic duct in a 28-year-old woman is described. The patient presented with a painful distended gallbladder due to a small tumor occluding the cystic duct. Microscopically the tumor cells showed a nesting pattern suggestive of endocrine differentiation, but contained numerous lipid vacuoles and were argentaffin and argyrophil ...

Cystic duct and Heister's “valves”
Clinical Anatomy, 2005AbstractThe anatomy and physiology of the cystic duct have been relatively neglected by anatomists and the function of the spiral mucosal folds or “valves” of Heister, first described in 1732, remains obscure. The gross and microscopic anatomy of the cystic duct is reviewed together with results from laboratory investigations into the function of the ...

Laparoscopic trans-cystic-duct common-bile-duct exploration
Surgical Endoscopy, 1994One thousand seventy-one consecutive laparoscopic cholecystectomies were performed. Routine cholangiography was employed with a 99% success rate. One hundred thirty patients were found to have common duct stones (CBDS). In 48 (37%) patients they were unsuspected.

Cystic duct directly joining the main pancreatic duct
Journal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, 2005A unique anomaly of the direct union between the cystic duct and the main pancreatic duct is presented. A 19-year-old man with a history of repeated epigastralgia underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreaticography that showed a direct union between the cystic duct and the main pancreatic duct.
