JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1963
We have studied seven patients with noncalculous partial cystic duct obstruction, a syndrome which has not been widely recognized in this country. All seven patients complained of right upper quadrant abdominal pain after meals, but routine oral cholecystography demonstrated normally-filling gallbladders without stones.

Restricted cystic duct carcinoma
The American Journal of Surgery, 2007g i d n n b [ c a F o t n abdominal ultrasound on a routine physical examination f an asymptomatic 59-year-old man showed gallbladder enargement. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed mass in the cystic duct (Fig. 1). Endoscopic retrograde holangiopancreatography showed complete obstruction of the ystic duct without abnormal findings of the ...

Isolated cystic dilatation of the cystic duct
The American Journal of Surgery, 1983Presented was an unusual case of congenital cystic dilatation of the extrahepatic biliary tract in which the cystic changes were confined solely to the cystic duct. There was concomitant common bile duct obstruction secondary to inflammation and mass effect from the cyst.

Operative Cystic Duct Cholangiography
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1972To the Editor.— Operative cystic duct cholangiography, introduced by Mirizzi in 1937, continues to be a valuable tool and has its advocates in many quarters. Its use remains as a vexing technical pathway unless one maintains facility in performing the maneuver.

Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1990
Two patients with carcinoma of the cystic duct presented with obstructive jaundice due to extrinsic compression of the common hepatic duct by the tumor. Sonography and computed tomography showed dilatation of the intrahepatic bile ducts and gallbladder. In one patient, a calculus seen in the gallbladder neck suggested Mirizzi syndrome.

Somatostatinoma of the cystic duct
Cancer, 1984An unusual tumor of the cystic duct in a 28-year-old woman is described. The patient presented with a painful distended gallbladder due to a small tumor occluding the cystic duct. Microscopically the tumor cells showed a nesting pattern suggestive of endocrine differentiation, but contained numerous lipid vacuoles and were argentaffin and argyrophil ...

Cystic duct and Heister's “valves”
Clinical Anatomy, 2005AbstractThe anatomy and physiology of the cystic duct have been relatively neglected by anatomists and the function of the spiral mucosal folds or “valves” of Heister, first described in 1732, remains obscure. The gross and microscopic anatomy of the cystic duct is reviewed together with results from laboratory investigations into the function of the ...
