Soluble cytochromes from the marine methanotroph Methylomonas sp. strain A4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Soluble c-type cytochromes are central to metabolism of C1 compounds in methylotrophic bacteria. In order to characterize the role of c-type cytochromes in methane-utilizing bacteria (methanotrophs), we have purified four different cytochromes ...

GPR124 Alleviates Blood–Brain Barrier Disruption by Enhancing Microvascular Endothelial Function after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study reveals the protective role of GPR124 in maintaining BBB integrity and promoting neurological recovery following TBI. It makes a significant contribution by uncovering a novel molecular interaction between GPR124 and FGFBP1 and linking this to activation of the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway in vascular repair mechanisms.

Cytochromes P450 et tonus vasculaire

open access: yes, 2004
The cytochromes P450 (CYP) are enzymes whose mainly known role is detoxification. However, their activity can lead to the formation of metabolites having pharmacological, toxicological or physiological effects.

Cytochromes P460 and c′-beta; A new family of high-spin cytochromes c

open access: yes, 2007
Cytochromes-P460 of Nitrosomonas europaea and Methylococcus capsulatus (Bath), and the cytochrome c′ of M. capsulatus, believed to be involved in binding or transformation of N-oxides, are shown to represent an evolutionarily related new family of ...

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

Real-time measurements of the redox states of c-type cytochromes in electroactive biofilms: a confocal resonance Raman Microscopy study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Confocal Resonance Raman Microscopy (CRRM) was used to probe variations of redox state of c-type cytochromes embedded in living mixed-culture electroactive biofilms exposed to different electrode polarizations, under potentiostatic and potentiodynamic ...

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

In vitro studies on cytochrome c biogenesis

open access: yes, 2003
C-type cytochromes are essential for almost all organisms and are mainly involved in electron transport; they are characterised by the covalent attachment of heme to protein through two thioether bonds to a CXXCH peptide motif.

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...
