The presence of a bo-type terminal oxidase in Bacillus firmus OF4 had been suggested from the effects of CO on the spectra of reduced membrane cytochromes (Hicks, D.B., Plass, R.J. and Quirk, P.G. (1991) J. Bacteriol. 173, 5010–5016).

Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Glioblastoma (GBM) exhibits RFX7 silencing via promoter hypermethylation, which downregulates PIK3IP1 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling, increase lactate accumulation, and enhance histone H4K12 lactylation. This lactylation upregulates PD‐L1/CSF1 expression and drives the immunosuppressive microenvironment formation.

Adaptive evolution of cytochrome b in songbirds
ABSTRACT The mitochondrial bc1 complex catalyzes the oxidation of ubiquinol by reducing cytochrome c. Cytochrome b, the catalytic core of bc1, generates superoxide during the oxidation of ubiquinol. Excessive superoxide production is known to accelerate aging and neurodegeneration.

Multi‐omics analyses uncover breed‐specific cis‐regulatory landscapes and higher‐order chromatin architectural differences that underlie early postnatal muscle fiber divergence in pigs. A super‐enhancer upstream of PPP3CB recruits MEF2C to activate PPP3CB transcription, while the PPP3CB–MEF2C positive feedback loop promotes oxidative muscle fiber ...
