Anion Effect on the Thermometric Properties of Near‐Infrared Emitting Mn5+‐Activated Sr5(PO4)3X (X = F, Cl, Br) Apatite Phosphors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 4, 27 January 2026.
Mn5+‐activated Sr5(PO4)3X (X = F, Cl, Br) apatite phosphors exhibit tunable near‐infrared thermometric behavior across cryogenic to high temperatures. The correlation between local [PO4]3– geometry and optical properties enables the prediction of suitable hosts directly from structural information.

Prediction of Cement Paste Elastic Properties via Computational Homogenization Using Digital Microstructures

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 126, Issue 24, 30 December 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the computational homogenization of cement paste, considering different types and sizes of representative volume elements (RVEs). Two microstructure models are examined: one generated from the simulation of hydration processes and the other based on microtomographic experimental data.

Self‐Assembly of Bent‐Core Nematics in Nanopores

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 49, December 10, 2025.
Bent‐core nematic liquid crystals like CB7CB exhibit tunable molecular organization and optical responses when confined in cylindrical nanochannels of anodic aluminum oxide and silica. The study investigates how confinement–from weak to strong–modulates phase behavior, revealing heliconical structures, paranematic states, and birefringence patterns ...

Transition‐Metal Azo Schiff Base Complexes: Nonlinear Optics Across Solutions, Thin Films and Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 30, October 24, 2025.
The excitation of a transition‐metal azo Schiff‐base complex with a 1064 nm laser induces a series of nonlinear optical effects. These effects include the second harmonic generation at 532 nm and third harmonic generation at 355 nm. This process demonstrates the potential of the complex for high‐order nonlinear optical applications. Abstract This paper
