Exploiting the LDH Memory Effect in the Carbon Dioxide to Methanol Conversion
Advanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 36, September 4, 2025.The memory effect of CuZnAl layered double hydroxides (LDHs) is exploited to synthesize catalysts for the conversion of carbon dioxide to methanol. Through repeated cycles of calcination‐reconstruction, the formation of increasingly smaller CuO nanoparticles embedded within the recovered LDH structure is promoted.

Chemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 97, Issue 8-9, Page 834-851, September 2025.A methanol mini‐plant and its digital twin were developed to study flexible feedstocks, reactant recycling, and product condensation. Experimental results show good agreement with simulations, allowing systematic investigation of process parameters. Tests with biomass‐derived syngas demonstrated the feasibility of industrial COx sources.
