Optimization of Thermal Stresses During Czochralski Growth of Oxides and Halides

A parametric optimization of the hotzone geometry for Czochralski growth is conducted to minimize thermal stress in a validated CsI furnace model. The optimal design, incorporating a heat shield, top susceptor, and modified induction coil, reduces crystal stress by a factor of 3.7.

Eutectic crystals, including Mg2Si and Si phases, are grown from the melt at the eutectic point using the vertical Bridgman method in a carbon crucible in three stages: ZrO2, Al2O3, and W. The eutectic morphology became finer in the ZrO2, Al2O3, and W stages.
