Surface Examination of Structure Loss in N-Type Czochralski Silicon Ingots

open access: yesSiliconPV Conference Proceedings
In principle, growing a dislocation-free Czochralski silicon ingot is possible if the growth process is kept stable and below the critical resolved shear stress value.

The $$\hbox {Na}_2\hbox {W}_2\hbox {O}_7$$ Na2W2O7 crystal: a crystal scintillator for dark matter search experiment

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2018
A single crystal of $$\hbox {Na}_2\hbox {W}_2\hbox {O}_7$$ Na2W2O7  (NWO) was grown by a low-thermal-gradient Czochralski technique (LTG-CZ). The scintillation properties of the crystal were evaluated for the first time as a potential material for dark ...

The study of single crystals for space processing and the effect of zero gravity [PDF]

open access: yes
A study was undertaken to analyze different growth techniques affected by a space environment. Literature on crystal growth from melt, vapor phase and float zone was reviewed and the physical phenomena important for crystal growth in zero-gravity ...

Precise Determination of Minimum Achievable Temperature for Solid-State Optical Refrigeration

open access: yes, 2012
We measure the minimum achievable temperature (MAT) as a function of excitation wavelength in anti-Stokes fluorescence cooling of high purity Yb3+-doped LiYF4 (Yb:YLF) crystal.

On the Crystallization of Terbium Aluminium Garnet

open access: yes, 2008
Attempts to grow terbium aluminium garnet (Tb3Al5O12, TAG) by the Czochralski method lead to crystals of millimeter scale. Larger crystals could not be obtained. DTA measurements within the binary system showed that TAG melts incongruently at 1840 deg. C.
