Optimization of Thermal Stresses During Czochralski Growth of Oxides and Halides

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, Volume 61, Issue 1, January 2026.
A parametric optimization of the hotzone geometry for Czochralski growth is conducted to minimize thermal stress in a validated CsI furnace model. The optimal design, incorporating a heat shield, top susceptor, and modified induction coil, reduces crystal stress by a factor of 3.7.

Random Micro‐Pyramids for Transparent c‐Si Solar Cells: Enabling 16.1% Efficiency with Wavelength‐Independent 20% Transmittance

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 3, 13 January 2026.
Crystalline silicon TPVs excel in transparency, efficiency, and stability, but suffer light loss in transparent regions. This study enhances light absorption by forming random micro‐pyramids on the surface through simple wet etching, boosting JSC to 33.3 mA cm−2 and 16.1% record‐high efficiency for 25 cm2 neutral‐colored TPVs (20% AVT), demonstrating a

3D-Numerical study of the effect of crystal rotation speed on interface shape in Czochralski growth for photovoltaic applications

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables
In this work, we conducted a 3D numerical simulation to investigate the shape of the melt-solid interface during the crystal growth of silicon using the Czochralski technique, which is widely employed in photovoltaic applications.

Persistent Luminescence Analysis in the Frequency Domain

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 36, December 19, 2025.
A frequency‐domain framework is introduced to characterize persistent luminescence materials. This method surpasses the limitations of time‐domain techniques and provides a new approach to understanding and optimizing the photophysical behavior of complex luminescent systems involving processes with different temporal dynamics.

PbMoO4 Synthesis from Ancient Lead and Its Single Crystal Growth for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay Search

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
A powder synthesis of PbMoO4 (PMO) from ancient lead (Pb) and deeply purified commercial MoO3 powders was performed using a wet chemistry technique to achieve the low radioactivity scintillator for neutrinoless double beta decay search in 100Mo.

“The Thermal Wave” in Technology of Crystal Growth from the Melt [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2013
It was found that the temperature fluctuations at the interface crystal-melt are the main reason for the formation of single crystals inhomogeneity grown by the Czochralski method.

Advanced Czochralski silicon growth technology for photovoltaic modules [PDF]

open access: yes
Several economic analyses had indicated that large-diameter, multiple ingot growth using a single crucible with melt replenishment would be required for Cz growth to be economically viable. Based on the results of these analyses, two liquid and two solid
