On greedy heuristics for computing D-efficient saturated subsets [PDF]
Let $\mathcal{F}$ be a set consisting of $n$ real vectors of dimension $m \leq n$. For any saturated, i.e., $m$-element, subset $\mathcal{S}$ of $\mathcal{F}$, let $\mathrm{vol}(\mathcal{S})$ be the volume of the parallelotope formed by the vectors of $\mathcal{S}$.

Evaluating R&D efficiency of China’s listed lithium battery enterprises [PDF]
AbstractPromoting the growth of the lithium battery sector has been a critical aspect of China’s energy policy in terms of achieving carbon neutrality. However, despite significant support on research and development (R&D) investments that have resulted in increasing size, the sector seems to be falling behind in technological areas.

Transforming drug discovery: the impact of AI and molecular simulation on R&D efficiency. [PDF]
The process of developing new drugs in the pharmaceutical industry is both time-consuming and costly, making efficiency crucial. Recent advances in hardware and computational methods have led to the widespread application of computational science approaches in drug discovery. These approaches, including artificial intelligence and molecular simulations,

Hedge fund activism, R&D efficiency and firm value
We investigate the effectiveness of hedge fund activism in addressing inefficient R&D investment and creating long-term value at target firms. Using an endogenous growth model to estimate efficient R&D investment levels, we find target firms exhibit a tendency to overinvest in R&D.

Effects of voltage variation on heat and stress distributions in the electrochromic glass
Electrochromic glass has been used in many applications, such as the building envelope, because its light filtration can be adjusted in a controllable manner using low input energy.

Highly D‑efficient Weighing Design and Its Construction [PDF]
In this paper, some aspects of design optimality on the basis of spring balance weighing designs are considered. The properties of D‑optimal and D‑efficiency designs are studied. The necessary and sufficient conditions determining the mentioned designs and some new construction methods are introduced.

Urban energy assessment by means of simulation techniques
Current trends in energy consumption and greenhouse emissions make energy problems in cities take special importance. This situation has led to evaluate different urban configurations that combine the reduction of the energy demands with the optimization

Highly D-Efficient Designs with Nonnegatively Correlated Observations
In the most difficult case where the number of observations n ≡ 3 (mod 4), high D-efficiency of certain chemical balance weighing designs under completely symmetric covariance matrix of errors is shown. It is also proved that D-optimal design may depend on the values of the correlation coefficient.
