On d-optimal designs for binary data

Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1988
We use the criterion of D-optimality of the Fisher information matrix to derive optimal vectors for binary data. Some concepts of totally positive functions and Polya functions of order II are used to derive properties of the determinant of the Fisher information matrix arising in quantal response bioassay and attribute life testing models. As is often

D‐optimal designs and group divisible designs

Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 2006
AbstractWe obtain new conditions on the existence of a square matrix whose Gram matrix has a block structure with certain properties, including D‐optimal designs of order $n\equiv 3 \pmod 4$, and investigate relations to group divisible designs. We also find a matrix with large determinant for n = 39. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Combin Designs 14:

Minimax D‐Optimal Designs for the Logistic Model

Biometrics, 2000
Summary. We propose an algorithm for constructing minimax D‐optimal designs for the logistic model when only the ranges of the values for both parameters are assumed known. Properties of these designs are studied and compared with optimal Bayesian designs and Sitter's (1992, Biometrics, 48, 1145–1155) minimax D‐optimal kk‐designs.

D-Optimal Designs for Quadratic Regression Models

2000
In this paper, D-optimal designs are given for some incomplete quadratic models in Iinear regression. The models we consider contain all firstorder interactions, all Iinear terms and some quadratic terms. The experimental region is a hypercube.

Nonparametric Testing of Saturated D-optimal Designs

2014
In this paper we propose a modification of the Loughin–Noble permutation test of significance of factorial effects for unreplicated orthogonal factorial designs, Loughin and Noble (Technometrics 39(2):180–190, 1997), when orthogonal factorial designs are replaced by D-optimal saturated designs.

D-optimal onion designs in statistical molecular design

Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 2004
Statistical molecular design (SMD) is a technique for selecting a representative (diverse) set of substances in combinatorial chemistry and QSAR, as well as other areas depending on optimising chem ...

D-Optimal Designs for Covariate Models

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2013
The problem of finding D-optimal designs in the presence of a number of covariates has been considered in the one-way set-up. This is an extension of Dey and Mukerjee (2006) in the sense that for fixed replication numbers of each treatment, an alternative upper bound to the determinant of the information matrix has been found through completely ...
