Pteris madhusoodananii (Pteridaceae), a new fern species from India

Pteris madhusoodananii sp. nov. (Pteridaceae), from the Kolli hills of Eastern Ghats, India, is described. The new taxon is morphologically distinct, characterized by a unique lamina texture and coloration, specific pinna‐pinnule architecture and distinct spore micromorphology.

Sinningia pampeana sp. nov. (Gesneriaceae) from the Pampa's rocky outcrops in southern Brazil and Uruguay

Sinningia pampeana is a new rupicolous species from the rocky outcrops of the Pampa biome in southern Brazil and Uruguay. Morphological analyses based on herbarium material, field observations, and detailed illustrations support its recognition as a distinct species from Sinningia sellovii.

By dispersing seeds, frugivorous animals affect spatial co‐occurrence of plants, ultimately influencing plant community dynamics. Frugivorous animals are intrinsically involved in plant community dynamics, by dispersing seeds of fleshy‐fruited plants and influencing their spatial co‐occurrence.
