Mitigating technology gaps' contribution to international income inequality

Abstract This replication study revisits a 2023 analysis by Sampson on the impact of international technology gaps on income inequality, trade, and wages. We extend the original framework by using broader patent metrics from PATSTAT, expanding the country sample and time frame, and testing alternative calibrations.

Insect floral visitors vary spatiotemporally and influence fruit production in mango orchards

Native stingless bees (Tetragonula spp.) were the most abundant flower visitors in mango orchards, and their visitation sharply declined with distance from native vegetation. Hover flies and stingless bees showed complementary spatiotemporal visitation patterns, but hover flies could not fully offset pollination loss deeper in the orchard.

Understanding the Performance of Currency Basis‐Momentum

ABSTRACT We conduct an in‐depth analysis of basis momentum (BM) in currency markets and examine its relationship with key market anomalies. We find that BM strategies generate significant excess returns across various formation periods. These abnormal returns are not fully explained by the closely related carry and momentum factors.

Green Loans and Firm Performance: Evidence on Signalling and Impact Investing Effects

ABSTRACT Green loans, costlier than sustainable bonds, are mainly used by smaller firms. This study examines 439 green loans issued to 299 nonfinancial firms during 2016–2023, assessing whether they signal environmental commitment or generate impact. Findings support both Signalling and Impact Investing theories.
