Genetic divergence among genetic groups of Gir crossbreds

open access: yesIndian Journal of Animal Sciences, 2019
Comparative evaluation of FG (50% HF + 50% Gir), IFG (Interse of FG), FJG (50% HF + 25% Jersey + 25% Gir), IFJG (Interse of FJG) and R (50% HF + 12.50% Jersey + 37.50% Gir) crosses of Gir was done on the basis of age at first conception (AFCon ...

Directional Liquid Transport Enabled pH‐Responsive Hierarchical Composite for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical composite with a gradient architecture transitioning from hydrophobic to hydrophilic layers integrates diode‐like liquid transport, efficient water absorption, breathability, and mechanical robustness. This device enables a multifunctional therapeutic platform with pH‐responsive dual‐drug release, providing synergistic anti‐inflammatory ...

Poking Pluripotency: Nanoinjection Into Human iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoinjection into hiPSCs: silicon nanotubes effectively transfect human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with mRNA, enabled by a delayed extracellular matrix application and enhanced surface functionalization. Nanoinjection is demonstrated with several reporter mRNA, including co‐transfection of mCherry and GFP.

Surface‐Capped Protein Nanoparticles for Nonviral Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Developing simple, safe, and efficient nonviral delivery systems remains a significant challenge in bioengineering. Nanoparticles offer promising gene delivery capabilities with reduced toxicity; however, long‐standing challenges related to effective plasmid encapsulation and delivery exist.

Characterising the distribution of the D2 statistic and its close relatives

open access: yes, 2015
The D2 statistic is defined as the number of k-mer matches for some pre-specified length k between two sequences of letters.  It is potentially a useful statistic for measuring similarity of  DNA or protein sequences in cases where long alignments may not be appropriate.

Droplet Electricity Generators With Maximized Energy Collection Zone Enabled by Aloe‐Inspired Midrib and Cuticle

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An Aloe‐pinspired droplet electricity generator (A‐DEG) overcomes the limited energy collection zone of conventional DEGs by guiding impact droplets through a channeling midrib and artificial cuticle. The channeling midrib induces uni‐directional droplet spreading, while the artificial cuticle on the midrib further reinforces this behavior through its ...

Genetic divergence studies in foxtail millet [Setaria italica (L.) Beauv.]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2019
Fifty genotypes of foxtail millet were subjected to multivariate analysis through Mahalanobis’ D2 statistics (Tocher’s method) and Wards’ minimum variance method.

Micropillar‐Engineered Hybrid Adhesive Patch for Surface‐Conformable and Directional Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents a surface‐conformable hybrid adhesive integrating height‐optimized hexagonal micropillars with open‐rectangular cuts. The micropillars enhance rough‐surface contact and microscale crack arrest, while the cuts guide and reverse interfacial cracks for strong and directional adhesion. The multiscale architecture achieves robust pull‐off

Genetic divergence of inbred lines in sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2012
Genetic divergence of 79 inbred lines of sunflower using eight agronomic characters was studied. Analysis of variance revealedthe existence of divergence among the inbred lines.
