Equivalent homogeneous model of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers
Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2017This article focuses on modelling of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers. A simple equivalent one-dimensional homogeneous model of D31-mode longitudinal piezoelectric transducers is proposed in this article. Homogeneous properties of the model are derived by a simple analytical mixing method based on the operation principle of D31-mode ...

Simulating the Effects of Porosity on the D31 Piezoelectric Coefficient of Polyvinylidene Fluoride
ASME 2022 Conference on Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems, 2022Abstract A piezoelectric, thin film polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) material was developed for application as a blood pressure/flow sensor within an artificial heart. In an effort to increase the piezoelectric coefficient, d31, and maximize the sensitivity of the PVDF material, nanoscale pores were introduced into the thin films.
