Draft genome sequence of the extremely halophilic archaeon Haladaptatus cibarius type strain D43T isolated from fermented seafood [PDF]

open access: yesStandards in Genomic Sciences, 2015
AbstractAn extremely halophilic archaeon, Haladaptatus cibarius D43T, was isolated from traditional Korean salt-rich fermented seafood. Strain D43T shows the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (98.7 %) with Haladaptatus litoreus RO1-28T, is Gram-negative staining, motile, and extremely halophilic.

Dade's invariant conjecture for Steinberg's triality groups D43(2n) in defining characteristic [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2007
AbstractIn this paper, we verify Dade's invariant conjecture for Steinberg's triality groups D43(2n) in the defining characteristic, i.e., in characteristic 2. Together with the results in [J. An, Dade's conjecture for Steinberg triality groups D43(q) in non-defining characteristics, Math. Z. 241 (2002) 445–469] and [J. An, F. Himstedt, S. Huang, Uno's

On the 2-decomposition numbers of Steinberg's triality groups D43(q), q odd [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2007
AbstractWe compute the 2-modular decomposition numbers of Steinberg's triality groups D43(q), where q is a power of an odd prime, except for two decomposition numbers in the Steinberg character and classify all absolutely irreducible representations of D43(q) in non-defining characteristic up to a certain degree.

Incidence and outcomes of childhood status epilepticus in Kano, northern Nigeria. [PDF]

open access: yesEpilepsia Open
Abstract Objective Convulsive status epilepticus (CSE) is a major neurological emergency in childhood, but population‐based data from low‐ and middle‐income countries remain limited. We estimated the incidence, mortality, neurological outcomes, and predictors of adverse outcomes among children with CSE in Kano, northern Nigeria.

Predicting Outcomes of Traumatic Brain Injury Using Machine Learning Models Among Patients at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Tanzania: A Registry-Based Cohort Study. [PDF]

open access: yesHealth Sci Rep
ABSTRACT Background Traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains a major global health burden, disproportionately affecting low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) where access to neurocritical care is limited. Accurate and context‐appropriate prognostic models are crucial to guide early clinical decision‐making and optimize resource allocation in such ...
