Decentralized trade, random utility and the evolution of social welfare [PDF]
We study decentralized trade processes in general exchange economies and house allocation problems with and without money. The processes are subject to persistent random shocks stemming from agents' maximization of random utility.

Human otopathology in scleroderma
Scleroderma is a complex chronic progressive immune‐mediated disease. To date, there is a lack of information about how middle and inner ear may be affected by this disorder. Herein we described three otopathology cases of patients with scleroderma onset during life.

Determinants of rural creative microclustering: Evidence from web‐scraped data for England
Abstract This study aims to compare the drivers of clustering of rural and urban creative industries in England. We use pre‐pandemic web‐scraped data from 154,618 creative industry organizations in England, and use a novel technique to identify 71 distinct rural creative “microclusters” of geographically proximate creative firms.

Time‐consistent fair social choice
In this paper, we study intertemporal social welfare evaluations when agents have heterogeneous preferences that are interpersonally noncomparable. We first show that even if all agents share the same preferences, there is a conflict between the axioms of Pareto principle, time consistency, and equity requiring society to reduce inequality regardless ...

The limits of ex post implementation without transfers
We study ex post implementation in collective decision problems where monetary transfers cannot be used. We find that deterministic ex post implementation is impossible if the underlying environment is neither almost an environment with private values nor almost one with common values.

Characterizing the top cycle via strategyproofness
Gibbard and Satterthwaite have shown that the only single‐valued social choice functions (SCFs) that satisfy nonimposition (i.e., the function's range coincides with its codomain) and strategyproofness (i.e., voters are never better off by misrepresenting their preferences) are dictatorships.

Government agencies provide huge amount of subsidies to support the rehabilitation transportation service over the past decade in eastern Taiwan; however, low demand request fulfillment rate, limited medical and transportation resources, long travel distances, and an extremely high percentage of dead mileages are still the main challenges faced by ...

P-wave Pentaquark and its Decay in the Quark Model with Instanton Induced Interaction
P-wave pentaquarks with strangeness +1, I=0 and J^P=1/2^+ are studied in the non-relativistic quark model with instanton induced interaction (III). We present their mass splittings and orbital-spin-isospin-color structures.

Experimental Study of Spatiotemporal Variations in Lab‐Scale Fire Whirls
This study focused on the unsteady behavior of fire whirls. A laboratory‐scale fire whirl was generated, and temporal variations in flame height were measured from images taken by a high‐speed camera and subjected to frequency analysis. The flame height fluctuations of the fire whirl also showed intermittent behavior, such as the puffing of a pool ...

Multi-Profile Intertemporal Social Choice [PDF]
We provide a brief survey of some literature on intertemporal social choice theory in a multi-profile setting. As is well-known, Arrow’s impossibility result hinges on the assumption that the population is finite.
