Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

The first outbreak of measles virus caused by imported genotype D8 in Jiangsu province of China

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2019
Here we reported the outbreak of measles cases caused by the genotype D8 measles virus for the first time in Jiangsu province in China, which was possibly imported by a foreign student from Laos.

Social Responsibility and Loyalty in Public Relations Codes

open access: yesBusiness Systems Research, 2019
Background: It is believed that social responsibility, the value that is strongly involved in the contemporary corporate behaviour, has also become the core value for public relations practitioners and their associations.

Localized Backreacted Flavor Branes in Holographic QCD

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate the perturbative (in $g_s N_{D8}$) backreaction of localized D8 branes in D4-D8 systems including in particular the Sakai Sugimoto model. We write down the explicit expressions of the backreacted metric, dilaton and RR form.

Holographic QCD for H-dibaryon (uuddss) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The H-dibaryon (uuddss) is studied in holographic QCD for the first time. In holographic QCD, four-dimensional QCD, i.e., SU($N_c$) gauge theory with chiral quarks, can be formulated with $S^1$-compactified D4/D8/$\overline{\rm D8}$-brane system.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Tailoring Functional Properties of Ti–Ni–Cu Shape Memory Alloy Thin Films for MEMS Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A comprehensive study of critical parameters required to develop well‐performing Ti–Ni–Cu thin film shape memory alloy microactuators is provided. Materials science and device integration aspects are integrated by addressing structural and physical relationships using complementary characterization techniques as well as a practical fabrication solution

Retail Availability of Delta-8 THC Near Schools, Fort Worth, Retail Availability of Delta-8 THC Near Schools, Fort Worth, Texas, 2021

open access: yesHealth Behavior Research
Delta-8 THC (D8) is an intoxicating compound linked to poisonings and hospitalizations, and no federal laws prohibit its sale to minors. We examined retail D8 availability near public schools (n=231) in Fort Worth, Texas, where D8 sales are minimally ...

A note on fermions in holographic QCD

open access: yes, 2007
We study the fermionic sector of a probe D8-brane in the supergravity background made of D4-branes compactified on a circle with supersymmetry broken explicitly by the boundary conditions.

Natural Bone‐Derived Ceramic Scaffolds Functionalized with Chitosan‐Gold, Chitosan‐Magnesium, and Chitosan‐Zinc for Enhanced Antibacterial Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the development of antibacterial ceramic scaffolds derived from natural bovine bone. The bones were processed through sequential boiling and hydrogen peroxide treatment to remove organic matter, producing porous, mineral‐rich scaffolds.
