Paediatric dacryocystorhinostomy
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Ophthalmology, 1994AbstractOf 258 cases of dacryocystorhinostomy performed on children in the period September 1981 to September 1991, 130 were for simple, unresolved congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction. Other indications for surgery included punctal agenesis, lacrimal fistula, post‐traumatic and post‐inflammatory canalicular obstruction.

Ophthalmology, 1978
Careful preoperative evaluation and observance of indications for dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) result in the appropriate use of this procedure. The surgeon should have a sound knowledge of the anatomy of the lacrimal drainage system and nose before proceeding with a DCR, which may be done under local or general anesthesia.

Pediatric Dacryocystorhinostomy
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1985Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) often has uncertain results in the pediatric age group. Poorly defined and rapidly changing anatomy, along with a tendency toward vigorous growth of scar tissue, may alter surgical results. We report our experience with 29 primary pediatric dacryocystorhinostomies and five reoperations.

The role of routine nasolacrimal sac biopsy during endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy
The Laryngoscope, 2020Most patients who undergo endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) have a diagnosis of idiopathic nasolacrimal duct obstruction. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of routine biopsy of the lacrimal sac performed at time of DCR on ...

Outpatient Dacryocystorhinostomy
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1991ABSTRACT We report 105 dacryocystorhinostomy procedures in 87 patients performed on an outpatient basis. Seventy-six patients received local, and 29 received general, anesthesia. The patients left the hospital an average of 2.6 hours after surgery, but 14 were admitted after surgery-9 immediately, and 5 after some delay, primarily for ...

Failure in Revision Dacryocystorhinostomy: A Study of Surgical Technique and Etiology.
The Journal of craniofacial surgery (Print), 2019The aim of this study is to assess the etiologic factors of primary dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) failure according to DCR techniques and also to determine risk factors for the prediction of failure in revision external DCR.

Predictors of long‐term success and failure in primary and revision endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy
International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology, 2019Although endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (endo‐DCR) is a common treatment of nasolacrimal duct obstruction, little is known about the determinants of surgical success and failure. The purpose of this study was to identify patient‐ and technique‐specific
