Allozyme variation in the fruit flies Dacus tryoni and Dacus neohumeralis (Tephritidae)
Biochemical Genetics, 1974Electrophoretic variation in four specific proteins, an alcohol dehydrogenase, and an octanol dehydrogenase from adult body homogenates, an esterase from adult heads, and a tyrosinase from larval hemolymph, is described for laboratory populations of two sibling species, Dacus tryoni and Dacus neohumeralis.

The Status of Dacus armatus Fabricius and of Dacus bivittatus (Bigot) (Trypetidae, Diptera)
Bulletin of Entomological Research, 1948A full consideration of the systematic position of Dacus armatus F. (the genotype of Dacus) and of Dacus bivittatus (Big.) is not attempted here, but it is necessary, owing to the economic importance of the latter, to clear up the confusion that has arisen between them. I am indebted to and thank Dr. A. J.

A Re-Evaluation of Introgression Between Dacus Tryoni and Dacus Neohumeralis (Diptera: Tephritidae).
Australian Journal of Zoology, 1977The humeral calli in D. tryoni range from completely yellow to almost entirely brown. This variation is largely genetic and the character responds readily to selection in the laboratory. In field populations, selection favours flies with little or no brown pigment on the calli (around 3% brown) and there is a strong natural selection against the darker
