Frozen Differential Scattering in Reconfigurable Complex Media

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A localized perturbation universally results in a rank‐one update of the scattering matrix of any complex medium. The resulting differential output wavefront is “frozen”: its spatial pattern is fixed (agnostic to the input wavefront). Experiments with a programmable‐metasurface‐parametrized wireless link validate frozen differential scattering and ...

Loop Quantum Photonic Chip for Coherent Multi‐Time‐Step Evolution

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A loop quantum photonic chip (Loop‐QPC) enabling efficient multi‐step quantum simulation in a single run is demonstrated. Combining recirculating loops with cycle‐or‐measure control, Loop‐QPC eliminates repeated reprogramming and reduces loss. Experimental demonstration of three‐step unitary evolution confirms high‐fidelity operation, showcasing the ...

A General Framework for Knowledge Integration in Machine Learning for Electromagnetic Scattering Using Quasinormal Modes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Neural networks can accelerate modeling and inverse design of electromagnetic devices by several orders of magnitude, but usually require large amounts of data to train. This work demonstrates that integrating knowledge about quasinormal modes into the network architecture reduces the required amount of training data significantly, while simultaneously

Vekerzug culture and new finds of Scythian akinakai in Moravia

open access: yesTyragetia, 2017
In 2016 authors of this paper obtained information about three Scythian daggers from the territory of Moravia. They were found by unknown persons with the help of metal detectors in the vicinity of Brno, near Horákovský hrad. The dagger no.

Tailoring Spatial Correlations With Quantum Interference

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Imposing spatial structure on interfering photons fundamentally reshapes their correlations. By controlling the mutual distinguishability of two photons, we write and edit these correlations, encoding information that is invisible to conventional intensity measurements and revealed only through their joint behavior.

Katar of Hindustan: the dagger of tiger hunters (composition, structure and properties) [PDF]

open access: yesИсторическое оружиеведение
The weapon complex of Hindustan is represented by one of the most authentic types of H-handled push daggers: “katars” or, as they are called in India, “jamdhars”.

Linear Toroidal‐Inertial Waves on A Differentially Rotating Sphere with Application to Helioseismology: Modeling, Forward and Inverse Problems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

Complete Positivity for Mixed Unitary Categories

open access: yes, 2019
In this article we generalize the $\CP^\infty$-construction of dagger monoidal categories to mixed unitary categories. Mixed unitary categories provide a setting, which generalizes (compact) dagger monoidal categories and in which one may study quantum ...

Genomic structure and ex situ conservation of the North American grapevine Vitis labrusca

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
The North American wild grapevine species Vitis labrusca is an important source of disease resistance and climate resilience traits for breeding new grapevine cultivars. To ensure its continued use in breeding, V. labrusca must be accurately identified and genetically diverse material must be conserved.
