Detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in Bovine Faeces Using a Rhodamine B Hydrazone Immunosensor on Antibody‐Coated Nitrocellulose Membranes

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 6, November 2026.
A rhodamine B hydrazone nanoparticle‐based immunosensor coupled with an antibody‐coated nitrocellulose membrane (IMS‐CNM) was developed for rapid detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) in bovine faeces. The assay combines antibody‐mediated bacterial capture with chromogenic nanoparticle detection, providing a simple, rapid and ...

Beyond Bactericidal: Plasma Surface Engineering to Defeat Food Matrix‐Conditioning Layers

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT The persistence of foodborne pathogens on industrial food contact surfaces continues to challenge global food safety despite advances in sanitation technologies. A central limitation of current antimicrobial strategies lies in their validation under simplified laboratory conditions that overlook the physicochemically driven formation of food ...

Biochar‐Driven Microbial Shifts Enhance Feed Digestibility and Mitigate Methane Emissions in Hybrid Pennisetum Silage

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 11, November 2026.
This study investigated the effects of cellulase, propionate, and cow dung biochar as additives on the silage quality of hybrid Pennisetum. The results indicated that the incorporation of biochar not only improved fermentation quality but also reduced methane production and enhanced in vitro dry matter digestibility.

Methane Emissions in Melbourne, Australia; Part 1: Prior Estimates Using Global and National Data

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract This paper is the first part of a comprehensive study that enhances the understanding of methane emissions in Melbourne, Australia, by combining emission inventories and atmospheric observations. We utilized global, national and regional datasets to produce prior gridded estimates of methane emissions for the Melbourne region.

Apportioning Sources of Nitrogen Oxides in California's San Joaquin Valley Using Observations From Three Airborne Field Campaigns

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract Emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx = NO + NO2), a precursor to ozone and secondary aerosol formation have become increasingly important to understand as ozone production transitions to NOx limited in most regions of the US. Recent studies suggest that NOx emissions associated with agricultural activities, particularly cropland soils, are an ...
