A pregnant female of the Dwarf deep-sea shark, Squaliolus laticaudus with four embryos was caught by the nocturnal longline vessel “Progressao” from southern Brazil, on September 1999. It was donated by the fishermen. Embryos ranged in size 105 – 100 mm of total length.

Family Dalatiidae Dalatias licha (Bonnaterre, 1788) —Kitefin shark 101 specimens were caught at depths between 731 and 1,115 m. Length data were available for 37 specimens ranging from 38 to 151 cm TL (117.1±31.8), with males between 38 and 122 cm (N=10) and females between 42 and 151 cm (N=26).

A new species of kitefin shark (Squaliformes; Dalatiidae) is described from the Gulf of Mexico (Western North Atlantic Ocean) based on five diagnostic features not seen on the only other known Mollisquama specimen, the holotype of Mollisquama parini Dolganov which was captured in the Eastern South Pacific Ocean.

A New Species of Acanthobothrium (Cestoda: Onchoproteocephalidea) from the Smalleye Pygmy Shark, Squaliolus aliae (Chondrichthyes: Squaliformes: Dalatiidae), from Taiwan

The cestode fauna of Squaliolus aliae was examined for the first time following the collection of elasmobranch specimens from Taiwan in 2005, 2013, and 2017. This small shark was found to host 2 tapeworm species. These consist of Acanthobothrium katherineae n.
