To meet its objective, Likhe (2073) by Sarad Paudel and Itihāsko Ek Paikā (The brave person in the history, 2066) by Ranendra Barali have been selected purposively as primary texts for analysis.

Apparently, it was first used in the 1930s as a hindi and marathi translation of the English expression depressed classes, a term the British used to refer to the group of people who are now called the Scheduled Castes.
