Ecological and Social Dimensions of Human–Bear Coexistence in Nepal's Gaurishankar Conservation Area [PDF]
Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.We modelled habitat suitability for Asiatic black bears in Nepal's Gaurishankar Conservation Area and combined it with community surveys to understand human–bear coexistence. Our results show that bear habitat is concentrated between 1000 and 3000 m and that conflict is rising in forest‐edge communities.
