Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Service Restoration for Resilient Distribution Systems Coordinated With Damage Assessment
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2022The time required to restore distribution systems following an extreme event is highly dependent on damage assessment. Waiting for field assessors patrolling the feeders to identify fault locations is a bottleneck in improving restoration efficiency ...

A novel method for identifying the damage assessment tweets during disaster
Future generations computer systems, 2021Detecting the damage assessment tweets is beneficial to both humanitarian organizations and victims during a disaster. Most of the previous works that identify tweets during a disaster have been related to situational information, availability ...
