DNA damage and repair scenario in ameloblastoma

Oral Oncology, 2020
Ameloblastoma is a rare human disease of benign neoplasm odontogenic tumor with a lower prevalence but higher recurrence rate. Etiology of ameloblastoma is not fully understood thus lacks implementation of curative treatments. One of the proposed models of evolution of ameloblastoma is related to alteration in DNA damage and repair effects.

Designing Scenarios of Damage Accumulation

2019
The problems arising in working out damage accumulation scenarios in performance based designing are considered. These include specifying the group of limiting states for the structure under consideration, specifying the design input for each limiting state, establishing the criterion of the limit state occurrence, methods of calculating the structure ...

Railroad Damage Scenario Development

Earthquake Spectra, 2011
The approaches necessary for estimating earthquake effects on railroads are different for developing design criteria or post‐earthquake response policies and for developing railroad damage scenarios. In developing design criteria or post‐earthquake response policies, the probability of ground motions exceeding a particular level is a primary concern ...

Handbook of tsunami hazard and damage scenarios

2011
The handbook on tsunami scenarios is the result of an intense work performed under the European FP6 cofunded project SCHEMA in a 39 month period from 2007 to 2010 by a Consortium of 11 partners led by Geosciences Consultants (Paris). The handbook is one of the products of the project and has been conceived to illustrate the basic concepts and methods ...

Determination of Loading Scenarios on Buildings Due to Column Damage

Structures, 2017
Abstract The majority of imaginable (and relevant) accidental scenarios on building structures are initiated at the ground level by a column suffering damage, mainly due to a localized explosion or a vehicle impact. The transmitted vertical forces from the column to the structure are decisive in understanding the response of the building and are the ...

A study on damage scenarios for residential buildings in Catania city

Journal of Seismology, 1999
The main purpose of this study is to obtain the damage scenario for residential buildings in the occurrence of a destructive earthquake (M= 7+) in the city area of Catania, Eastern Sicily, and to illustrate the comparative performance of two alternative methods used for this purpose.

A Scenario-Based Damage Identification Framework

2012
Damage has a direct impact on the modal parameters of structures. However, finding the location and severity of the damage from the modal parameters is a challenging task. This is because damage identification problems are in general highly undetermined, i.e. the number of potential damage locations is much higher than the size of the experimental data

DAMAGE DETECTION IN BRIDGES USING MODAL CURVATURES: APPLICATION TO A REAL DAMAGE SCENARIO

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1999
Abstract Damage detection in civil engineering constructions using the dynamic system parameters has become an important research topic. A direct, fast and inexpensive method is therefore required to evaluate and localize damage using the change in dynamic parameters between the intact and damage states. This paper investigates the application of the

Simulation of Damage Scenarios in an FRP Composite Suspension Footbridge

Key Engineering Materials, 2005
Simulations of damage scenarios were carried out using a finite element model of a newly constructed FRP composite footbridge, the Wilcott footbridge. This footbridge represents a new generation of suspension footbridges that have lightweight decks made of pultruded glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite elements.
