Long-term trends in wildfire damages in California

International journal of wildland fire, 2021
In 2017 and 2018, wildfires in California burned millions of hectares and caused billions of dollars in structure damages. This paper puts these recent fires in a long-term historical context by assembling four decades of data on wildfires in California.

Detecting the Early Damages in Structures With Nonlinear Output Frequency Response Functions and the CNN-LSTM Model

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2020
Frames, shells, and hybrid structures with early damages, such as early cracks, often behave as extremely weak nonlinear systems, among which the nonlinearity is difficult to be detected, especially if the system response is affected by the noise.

Hereditary damage

Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 1979
For the purposes of radiation protection, risk estimates should be based on effects of irradiation at low doses and low dose-rates. Although few genetic studies have been made on effects at low doses those carried out at low dose-rates suggest that the response is generally linear for induction of both gene mutations and chromosomes aberrations.

Damage and Damages

2007
Abstract This chapter discusses damage and damages, including contributory negligence, as they relate to tort law in Europe and the European Union. Damage. Gradient of Damage

2002
Damage of materials has been modelled by damage quantities within the framework of continuum mechanics [171, 172]. The damage quantities are internal quantities which appear in the expression of the free energy of the material [171, 135, 172, 147, 148, 81].
