Maternal Nutritional Status Governs Fetal Development by Modulating Imprinting Gene GAB1‐Mediated Trophoblast Differentiation in the Placenta

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 12, December 2025.
Maternal nutrient restriction disrupts placental homeostasis via GAB1 dysregulation—involving both transcriptional downregulation and autophagy‐dependent protein degradation. These molecular alterations inhibit MAPK signalling‐mediated trophoblast fusion, leading to structural and functional deficits in the maternal–fetal exchange interface.

The Early Development of the Blue‐Eye Cichlid, Cryptoheros spilurus (Cichliformes: Cichlidae)

open access: yesEvolution &Development, Volume 27, Issue 4, December 2025.
We document the early development of Cryptoheros spilurus, highlighting rapid cranial differentiation, sensory organ formation, and fin development. Ontogenetic allometry and ultrastructural traits reveal functional adaptations for early foraging and locomotion, offering insights into ecological success and the developmental basis of cichlid ...

Growth and Developmental Processes Alternate During Larval Development of Atlantic Herring

open access: yesEvolution &Development, Volume 27, Issue 4, December 2025.
During their development, fish pass through a series of developmental processes advancing, for example, their physiological and locomotive abilities. Gene expression analysis combined with histological and morphological analysis of Atlantic herring in different larval life stages showed two major growth periods in larval herring development alternating

In vivo modeling of lethal congenital contracture syndrome 1 suggests pathomechanisms in cellular stress responses

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 23, Page 6365-6399, December 2025.
GLE1 plays a direct role mRNA regulation, translation, and formation of cytosolic stress granules. GLE1 dysfunction has been associated with devastating diseases, including lethal congenital contracture syndrome 1(LCCS1), a rare disorder enriched in isolated populations.

Phosphoproteomic analysis reveals the diversity of signaling behind ErbB‐inhibitor‐induced phenotypes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 24, Page 6557-6575, December 2025.
Whole‐organism phosphoproteomics after ErbB inhibitor treatment was assessed in zebrafish embryos. Differential signaling was uncovered after treatments with more selective ErbB inhibitors and pan‐ErbB inhibitors, despite similar neurological and myocardial phenotypes.
