Quasielastic Neutron Scattering Reveals Anisotropic Water Transport in Smectite Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Clay minerals, vital in advanced technologies, exhibit tunable interfacial properties. Quasielastic neutron scattering is used on oriented beidellite films to study charge‐induced anisotropy. Results reveal anisotropic water dynamics and orientation‐dependent diffusion.

Multimaterial Microrobots for pH Sensing Fabricated Using Sequential 3D and 4D Printing with Automated Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work proposes the use of multimaterial microrobots for pH sensing. The microrobots consist of a hard polymer backbone and 4D printed sensing elements made of a pH‐responsive hydrogel. The swelling response, reusability, and high mobility of the microrobots make them promising tools for pH sensing at the micro scale.

A Danish Profiling System [PDF]

open access: yes
We describe the statistical model used for profiling new unemployed workers in Denmark. When a worker - during his or her first six months in unemployment - enters the employment office for the first time, this model predicts whether he or she will be ...

Untethered Magnetic Microswimmers for Targeted Particle Transport and Flow Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces magnetically actuated microswimmers to dynamically reconfigure fluid flow within a single microfluidic device. Multiple homogeneous microswimmers are independently controlled by an external magnetic field to perform translational and rotational motions, thereby inducing real‐time flow manipulation.
