Abstract A new extinct genus and species of Anostraca (Crustacea, Branchiopoda), Daohugounaias cheni gen. et sp. nov. is described based on a well-preserved specimen from the Middle Jurassic of Daohugou, Inner Mongolia, China. The new genus differs from other Anostraca by the short, forward-pointing spines at the joint of the abdomen and brood pouch.
