Microporosity evolution in Iranian reservoirs, Dalan and Dariyan formations, the central Persian Gulf

Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, 2018
Abstract Tight limestones with high amounts of microporosity will be the main targets of future hydrocarbon exploration and production in Middle East. In this paper, microporosity evolution in two Iranian reservoirs, Dalan and Dariyan formations, is investigated.

PALAEO‐EXPOSURE SURFACES IN THE APTIAN DARIYAN FORMATION, OFFSHORE SW IRAN: GEOCHEMISTRY AND RESERVOIR IMPLICATIONS

Journal of Petroleum Geology, 2018
Palaeo‐exposure surfaces within and at the top of the carbonate‐dominated Aptian Dariyan Formation have been poorly studied in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf. This paper presents an integrated sedimentological and geochemical study of the Dariyan Formation at four oil and gas fields located in the western, central and eastern parts of the Gulf.

Reservoir rock typing and zonation in sequence stratigraphic framework of the Cretaceous Dariyan Formation, Persian Gulf

Carbonates and Evaporites, 2019
This study delineates reservoir and non-reservoir zones in the Lower Cretaceous Dariyan Formation as units that are characteristic of the stratigraphic section representative of portions of the Persian Gulf offshore area. Reservoir rock types are categorized by textural and diagenetic properties.

Planktonic Foraminifera of the Dariyan formation and implications of Oceanic Anoxic Event 1a

2015
The investigated section cropping out in Kuh-e-Banesh, Zagros basin (southern Iran) is represented by limestone, Cherty beds and marllevels bearing abundant Planktonic foraminifers, radiolarian microfaunas, and ammonite imprints. For the first time, well to moderatelypreserved forms of Planktonic foraminifera have been extracted from black shale and ...

SEISMIC FACIES ANALYSIS BASED ON 3D MULTI‐ATTRIBUTE VOLUME CLASSIFICATION, DARIYAN FORMATION, SE PERSIAN GULF

Journal of Petroleum Geology, 2006
Interpretation of recently acquired 3D seismic data from the adjacent Sirri C and D oilfields in the SE Persian Gulf indicates that a 3D interpretation of seismic facies is crucial to resolve the internal stratal geometries of the Aptian Dariyan Formation.
