Dark-Ages Reionisation & Galaxy Formation Simulation XVI: The Thermal Memory of Reionisation

open access: yes, 2019
Intergalactic medium temperature is a powerful probe of the epoch of reionisation, as information is retained long after reionisation itself. However, mean temperatures are highly degenerate with the timing of reionisation, with the amount heat injected ...

Bone‐wise rigid registration of femur, tibia, and fibula for the tracking of temporal changes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Multiple myeloma (MM) induces temporal alterations in bone structure, such as osteolytic bone lesions, which are challenging to identify through manual image interpretation. The large variation in radiologists' assessments, even at expert centers, further complicates diagnosis.

Enhanced n-body annihilation of dark matter and its indirect signatures

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We examine the possible indirect signatures of dark matter annihilation processes with a non-standard scaling with the dark matter density, and in particular the case where more than two dark matter particles participate in the annihilation process.

Evidence of blood–brain barrier dysfunction and CSF immunoglobulin synthesis in Down Syndrome Regression Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives This study sought to evaluate proteomic, metabolomic, and immune signatures in the cerebrospinal fluid of individuals with Down Syndrome Regression Disorder (DSRD). Methods A prospective case–control study comparing proteomic, metabolomic, and immune profiles in individuals with DSRD was performed.

High-resolution and high-precision correlation of dark and light layers in the Quaternary hemipelagic sediments of the Japan Sea recovered during IODP Expedition 346

open access: yesProgress in Earth and Planetary Science, 2018
The Quaternary hemipelagic sediments of the Japan Sea are characterized by centimeter- to decimeter-scale alternation of dark and light clay to silty clay, which are bio-siliceous and/or bio-calcareous to a various degree.

Cosmological Parameters and the case for Cold Dark Matter [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
Determinations of the main cosmological parameters are reviewed and the implications for cold dark matter discussed. There is no longer an age problem for an $\Omega_o = 1, \Lambda = 0$ model and, if anything, there is now an age problem for low $\Omega_o, \Lambda > 0$ models.

Twelve‐month change in quantitative MRI calf muscle fat fraction in CMT1A predicts clinical change over 4 years

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective We measured clinical and quantitative MRI outcome measures in CMT1A to assess long‐term responsiveness, establish longitudinal validity and assess MRI as a bridging biomarker. Methods Twenty patients with CMT1A and 20 matched controls underwent MRI, myometry and clinical assessments up to four times over mean 4‐year follow‐up ...
