Bioinspired Bromination Enables Extensible, Strain‐Stiffening Resilin Peptide Scaffolds with Tunable Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioinspired bromination of a resilin‐derived peptide enables the fabrication of electrospun nanofibrous scaffolds that uniquely combine strain‐stiffening elasticity, proteolytic stability, and antioxidant functionality. These brominated peptide–gelatin hybrids mimic the extensibility of natural elastomers, demonstrating tunable mechanical resilience ...

Molecular Cross‐Linking of MXenes: Tunable Interfaces and Chemiresistive Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, Ti3C2Tx MXenes are initially functionalized using oleylamine ligands to form stable dispersions in an organic solvent. Subsequently ligand exchange with α,ω‐diaminoalkanes enables cross‐linking, along with precise tuning of interfaces. This structural control translates into tunable charge transport and responsive VOC sensing, showing ...

Naturally Derived Donor‐π‐Acceptor Compounds for Efficient Long‐Wavelength LEDs/Sunlight‐Induced Polymerization and High‐Precision Multiple 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two novel donor–π–acceptor photoinitiators enable ultrafast long‐wavelength photopolymerization under blue/green LEDs and sunlight. Effective at low intensities and concentrations, they overcome slow kinetics and permit rapid 3D printing via DLW, DLP, and LCD methods.

White Dwarfs in the HET Dark Energy Experiment

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
In the past decades, large scale surveys have discovered a large number of white dwarfs. For example, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 [5] lists about 20 000 spectroscopically confirmed new white dwarfs. More than just a number, the new discoveries revealed different flavors of white dwarfs, including a new class of pulsators [7] and ...

The Hobby-Eberly Telescope Dark Energy Experiment

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2004
We describe a project (HETDEX) to measure the evolution of dark energy out to z 4 with high precision. The galaxy power spectrum contains the baryonic oscillations seen in the CMB, and these features remain in the linear regime at high redshift. The separation of these peaks in the power spectrum is a standard ruler imprinted on both the angular and ...

New constraints on interacting dark energy from Planck experiment

Proceedings of the International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi”
We present new constraints on interacting dark energy from the recent measurements of the Cosmic Microwave Background Anisotropies from the Planck satellite experiment. We show that an interacting dark-energy model is compatible with the Planck measurements, deriving a weak bound on the dark matter-dark energy coupling parameter ξ=−0.49+0.19 ...

The research and development program for the SNAP dark energy experiment

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2007
Abstract The SNAP mission includes two surveys to study dark energy. In the deep survey, we detect more than 2000 matched Type Ia supernovae within a 7.5 deg2 field, with redshifts covering the range z = 0.1 – 1.7 . This uniform and high-quality set of “standard candles” will provide the most precise mapping of the expansion of the ...

Experiment Correlates Dark Energy Flux with Casimir Quantum Vacuum Effects

This paper presents a vacuum-centric phenomenological model linking quantum vacuum fluctuations to cosmological dark energy via a structured scalar polarizability density factor. Within the proposed Quantum–Wave Anisotropic Vacuum Energy (Q–WAVE) framework, the study demonstrates a quantitative and experimentally consistent connection between ...
