Dissipative dark matter and the rotation curves of dwarf galaxies [PDF]
There is ample evidence from rotation curves that dark matter halos around disk galaxies have nontrivial dynamics. Of particular significance are: a) the cored dark matter profile of disk galaxies, b) correlations of the shape of rotation curves with baryonic properties, and c) Tully-Fisher relations.

Effects of Galactic Environment on Size and Dark Matter Content in Low-mass Galaxies
We utilize the cosmological volume simulation FIREbox to investigate how a galaxy’s environment influences its size and dark matter content. Our study focuses on approximately 1200 galaxies (886 central and 332 satellite halos) in the low-mass regime ...

Leptonic new force and cosmic-ray boosted dark matter for the XENON1T excess
The recently reported excess in XENON1T is explained by new leptonic forces, which are free from gauge anomalies. We focus on two scenarios with and without dark matter. In Scenario #1, the gauge boson of gauged lepton number U(1)Le−Lj, j=μ or τ provides

Dark matter and gamma rays from the galactic halo [PDF]
The nature of the dark matter in the halo of our Galaxy is still largely unknown. The microlensing events found so far towards the Large Magellanic Cloud suggest that at most about 20% of the halo dark matter is in the form of MACHOs (Massive Astrophysical Compact Halo Objects).

The structure of dark matter halos. Observation versus theory [PDF]
The rotation curves of dark matter dominated dwarf galaxies are analysed. The observations show that dark matter halos represent a one-parameter family with self similar density profiles. The global halo parameters, like total mass and scale length are coupled by simple scaling relations. The inner halo regions resemble non-singular, isothermal spheres

The Shape of Dark Matter Halos
Techniques for inferring the radial and geometric form of dark matter halos and the results they have produced to date are reviewed. Dark halos appear to extend to at least ~50 kpc with total enclosed masses that rise linearly with radius R. Whether this behavior can be extrapolated to distances as large as 200 kpc and beyond is controversial; results ...

Microlensing and Halo Cold Dark Matter
We discuss the implications of the more than 50 microlensing events seen by the EROS, MACHO, and OGLE collaborations for the composition of the halo of our galaxy. The event rates indicate that the halo mass fraction in MACHO's is less than 30\%, consistent with expectations for a universe whose primary component is cold dark matter.

From Damage to Functionality: Remanufacturing of Thrust Roller Bearings by Tailored Forming
Herein, the wear and fatigue behavior of repaired bearing raceways with a new powder alloy is investigated using a FE8 test‐rig and an oscillating tribometer. The tests are compared with industrial manufactured bearings to evaluate the repair quality. The repair can extend the service life of the repaired bearing to that of a new bearing and improves ...
